Background: MAGP2 (also known as Microfibril-associated glycoprotein 2, MFAP2, MP25 and Microfibrillar-associated protein 5 precursor) is a secreted, extracellular matrix protein which is a component of the elastin-associated microfibrils. It forms intermolecular disulfide bonds either with other MAGP2 molecules or with other components of the microfibrils. MAGP2 is upregulated in some ovarian cancers and is associated with poor survival of ovarian cancer patients.
