Background:  The function of RASSF4 has not yet been determined but it may involve a role in tumor suppression. RASSF4 may act as a KRAS effector protein and may promote apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Alternative splicing of this gene results in several transcript variants; however, most of the variants have not been fully described.
